The Crucial First Step in the Creation of Motion Picture Special Effects

Storyboard drawings, which map out camera angles, continuity, and lighting, create a guide for the effects artists to follow. Through an analysis of scripts, character, and set design, students translate these elements into finished storyboards. Storyboards from major motion pictures are compared shot-for-shot to images from the films. This course introduces the basics of film grammar necessary for a career in film or special effects.
