Create Digital Scenery for Movies

This course is a hands-on intensive study of matte painting techniques used in background and establishing shots. Students are encouraged to employ traditional painting tools and concepts and apply them in the digital world. Knowledge of color theory and multiple-point linear perspective are essential. Photo-realism in painting is discussed with examples from both art and film. Approaches to painting architecture, nature, and interiors explored.
