An Introduction to Color and Light for Artists

This class covers the fundamentals of light and color as practically applied to artists. Going back to the basics of how light works in the real world, this class focuses on an often neglected subject. Intended as an introduction to understanding light and color, these lectures cover topics such as bounced light, shadows, and atmospheric and camera effects, going beyond basic color theory while staying relatively un-technical.

Historic examples from paintings will reinforce successful applications of color harmonies and atmospheric principles.

Demonstrations cover the many practical examples of how to apply color and lighting concepts to both 2D and 3D image creation.
